Garlic has been used for thousands of years as a cure all and general prevention of most Viral, and Bacterial infections. It also has been noted to have a positive effect on Cholesterol, Hypertension and alot of other Maladies. The active part of Garlic has been identified as Allicin, but many beleive (myself included) that the Whole crushed clove has many more benefits than just the Allicin.

Amazingly, I saw an article in Time about the Wonders of garlic. It seems the medical establishment has caught on and discovered a miracle food.... funny though humans have know about this for thousands of years heh : ). I think we are about to RE-discover alot of Ancient cures. : ) Another example is Raw Apple Cider Vinegar(with active bacteria).

Garlic works especially well with lung infections, sore throats, colds, flu etc... When I have a sore throat I suck on a whole, peeled unbroken clove for about 20 minutes or so, washing my throat with the garlic oil on each swallow. *Poof* the sore throat is gone or ALOT better that day.

To take garlic it is best to use the Well crushed RAW cloves, and mix it in with FOOD. DON'T take it on an empty stomach its very strong! If you HEAT the garlic it's medicinal effects are greatly reduced, but it is still good for you and will help ward off things. I usually cook it most of the time, and start eating it raw (1 or 2 cloves a day) when I first notice I am run down or sick. The capsules, work decently, although not as well as Fresh/raw. These pills, in stores, are easy to take and are potenet and dont make your breath smell. I take them sometimes and like them although I still think fresh is better.
