Carbolic Paste—A Headache Cure

Carbolic Paste

For many years I have used a carbolic paste, which is prepared as follows: Raw linseed oil, 7 parts; carbolic acid, 1 part; and sifted whiting to make a paste. Apply one-fourth inch thick, and cover with oiled silk. Always stir thoroughly before applying. This paste is excellent in all painful sores-ulcers, wounds, abscesses and carbuncles. This dressing may be changed every six hours.

My favorite headache pills are composed of gelsemium (solid ext.) 2 grains; lupulin (hop pollen), 12 grains. Make a pill mass and divide into twelve pills. Give one or two (according to the severity of symptoms) every three to six hours, until three doses have been given, if necessary.
