Monopetalae Corolla Hypogyna, Juss., Et Corolla Perigyna (partim).
Gamopetalae, Endl. (partim).

Calyx gamosepalous, i. e. sepals more or less united at the base. Petals mostly united, distinct at the base from the calyx. Stamens usually adnate to the corolla. Ovary mostly free, rarely adnate to the calyx.
