Botanical name: 

404. PIMPINELLA.—N.F. PIMPERNEL. The root of Pimpinel'la saxifra'ga Linné. Habitat: Europe. Diaphoretic, diuretic, and stomachic. It has also been employed in chronic catarrh, asthma, dropsy, amenorrhea, etc., and as a masticatory in toothache. Dose: 15 to 30 gr. (1 to 2 Gm.), in infusion or powder.
