Heteromeles. Heteromeles arbutifolia (Poir.) Roem. (Now ascribed to Photinia arbutifolia Lindl. (Fam. Rosaceae), D. D. Lustig has found in this Californian plant (toyon of the Indians) tannic, gallic, and hydrocyanic acids. (A. J. P., April, 1882.)
