Vieirine. Remijia vellozii.

Botanical name: 

Vieirine.—This substance is obtained from the bark of the Remijia Vellozii, DC. (Fam. Rubiaceae), of Brazil. It is used in Brazil in doses of from one to four grains (0.065-0.26 Gm.) repeated pro re nata, as a tonic and as an anti-periodic in place of quinine.
