Semecarpus. Semecarpus venosa (Fam. Anacardiaceae), the Tschongott Tree.—The highly poisonous nature of the bark of this tree, which is a native of the Caroline Islands, is, according to Thorns and Mannich [Ph. Ztg., 1902), due to the presence of cardol (anacardic acid).
