Vernonia. Vernonia anthelmintica Willd. (Fam. Compositae.)—This is an East Indian plant, whose black, bitter, and nauseous seeds have a high reputation in Ceylon as an anthelmintic in doses of sixty grains (3.9 Gm.). (P. J., April, 1883; also Ph. Rev., 1896, 274.)
