Holigarna. Holigarna longifolia Roxb. Now Semecarpus longifolia Blume. (Fam. Anacardiaceae.)—According to David Hooper (P. J., xxv, 1895), the black juice of this tree, which is used in India as the basis of a varnish, is actively vesicant, and contains a body closely allied to, if not identical with cardol.
