Format explanation

This class of preparations corresponds to the oleates of the United States Pharmacopoeia, but to distinguish them from the oleates which are definite metallic compounds, and to avoid confusion, the name "oleinate" has been adopted. They may be applied to the skin with a camel-hair brush, and are readily absorbed.
