ASPLENIUM, L. Spleenfern. Many species. Equivalent of A. trichomanes and A. ruta, such as A. ebeneum, trichomanoides, rhizophyllum, &c. Mild astringent, pectoral and corroborant, aperient and diuretic, useful for obstructions, gravel, syphilis, to clean the kidneys, hypochondria, &c. in decoction.
