Nabalus Albus. (Lion's Foot).
Preparation.—Prepare a tincture from the fresh plant, ℥viij. to Alcohol 760 Oj. Dose from gtt. j. to gtts. xx.
This remedy has been but little employed. It was claimed to be specific to the poison of the rattlesnake, and to have been used with much success.
It influences the nervous system directly, and experiment may develop a valuable use for it. It is not in the market, and we will therefore have to depend upon those who can procure it green, to determine its properties.
