Phyllanthus. Phyllanthus Niruri L.—Ottow isolated from this widely distributed euphorbiaceous plant phyllanthin, C₃₀H₃₇O₈, which crystallizes in colorless needles, is intensely bitter, insoluble in water, but soluble in alcohol, petroleum benzin, chloroform, and ether.
