Prioria. Prioria Copaifera Griseb. (Fam. Leguminosae.)—The oil tree is a native of the West Indies. The seeds are edible and in Panama are sold under the names of Cativa or Amanza muger. The tree yields an exudate which is known as the gum of the oil tree. This is a thick, adhesive liquid, resembling copaiba, usually turbid on account of a greenish substance, which, however, finally subsides, leaving a clear, brownish-yellow liquid.
