Sodium bicarbonate for the kitchen sink.
For years now I've been using herbal vinegars to clean the tiled walls in the shower. Not the good herbal vinegars, no, just the ones you couldn't possibly ingest. Like very strong lavender vinegar, which gives an overpowering taste of perfume to every food you'd care to add it to.
It's extremely refreshing when used to clean the shower walls. Strangely, teaching about this perfectly good alternative use for herbal vinegars frequently draws giggles ...
Anyway, until recently I didn't know about simple sodium bicarbonate for the kitchen sink. Now I do, and I just gave it a swirl: moisten steel sink and steel surroundings, add sodium bicarbonate, let sit, wipe off.
My, but my kitchen sink is shiny now! Wonder if this'll work on the stove as well?

I use sodium bicarbonate in
I use sodium bicarbonate in the kitchen and bath. It is great for neutralizing odors in addition to being a gentle, though very effective scrub.
I clean my oven "floor" with it too. I sprinkle it in the oven, spray it with a vinegar spray - or water. Let it sit overnight and then vacuum and/or wipe with a damp rag. This is nice for regular oven maintenance. Stubborn baked-on spills take multiple applications, but its sooooo much better than using those . . . well . . . poisons.
I make a vinegar infusion with orange peel and distilled white vinegar (my "cleaning" vinegar). I use it throughout the house and it has become my favorite cleaning product.
Of course, now I will have make a batch of lavender vinegar to try.
Have you tried equal parts
Have you tried equal parts bicarb with powdered sage with a drip of EO of tea tree of peppermint as a toothpowder? Even my kids like it and their teeth are gleaming.
Yes, I've tried herbal tooth
Yes, I've tried herbal tooth powders. I'll do a post on them, later.
