Paul Bergner writes:

We have spent some time and effort to get good English translations of book 1 and 2 of ibn Sina Canon of medicine, including making a directory for book two which is the materia medica.

Both volumes are posted for free at our website NAIMH.

Their story is pretty amazing the story of these translations, previous translations were made from the Latin which was made from the Arabic but there was no authority that the Arabic was not full of copying errors etc etc. The Hamdard foundation in Northern India and Pakistan obtained three very early copies of The Originals, and compared them in order to do a critical translation, first they rectified the Arabic and then they did the English translation.
